Little Mermaid for Lori Whitlock

Welcome to Lori's Blog. Today, I'd like to tell you some of my little tricks for sprucing up my digital cut files.   I start by importing the SVG file into my Cricut Design Space just as is.   (Make sure to attach your score lines to each piece after ungrouping the design.)   The cutting on these files is really easy.  Just choose your paper colors and the Cricut Explore prompts you when to change the paper.

Here are all the pieces cut.

Now to personalize it a bit!  To add a little dimension to the background pieces,  I used a bubbles embossing folder.   Because the paper was larger than the folder I ran it through twice moving the paper to cover the whole piece.

I used a background wave stamp to add to the wave cuts with a white unicorn ink.  This gives it more of an ocean feel!

Now for some sparkle!  I used some Nuvo glimmer for the mermaid's tail!

It's easy to customize your cards, just add a little ink,  Stickles and/or glossy accents to dress up your pieces!

Thanks for stopping by..

Happy Birthday Riley- Poppystamps

Welcome to the Poppystamps Blog! Today I am sharing a Birthday card in honor of my Granddaughter's Birthday. I am still not packed and we have to leave in 3 hours. I think I am not going to get much sleep.
I used the Happy Birthday Melody die and the Celebration balloons. I used colors that coordinate with the party.
Cut Birthday Melody out of purple and out of  a whit panel for the card. This could have easily been made into a shaker card if time had allowed.
My tip for adding balloon strings, use studio multi-matte medium to glue strings after looping. I adde ink splats to break up the all the white.

Hoppy Birthday Poppystamps

Welcome to the Poppystamps blog. Lezlye here today sharing a froggy birthday card.
Poppystamps frog
I cut several of the frogs, lined them all up and added the jumping one to represent the birthday person.
I used my Misti tool to do the sentiment. I wanted to alter the saying to fit my dies. Just ink up a portion of the word, clean re-position and stamp.
I also used it to perfectly line up the second part of the sentiment on the die cut flag.

Hippity Hop...Easter's on it's Way Poppystamps

Good Morning Poppystamps fans! I have  an Easter card for you today.
Final poppy
I did an inlay technique here. I used three colors of cardstock.
Use a post it note to hold the die in place, I ran my background colors with the white to get my positioning of my papers correct.
You will need to save all the tiny pieces to insert back into the letters as shown in the photo below.

You'll notice I used green to match the grass below and blue on top. There are several variations of this technique. It can be tedious but well worth the end result. I created my own grass tufts using fringe scissors and a strip of cardstock. Just tucking the eggs into the grass. A couple hopping bunnies to tie into the theme.
I added Stickles with a paint brush and a little grey copic marker to the clouds. I hope you enjoy my Easter Card.

For Peeps Sake-Lori Whitlock

Happy Spring! Lezlye here today! When I start seeing" Peeps" at the store I know that Spring is here. Now if the weather would cooperate and be as bright and cheery as this card I would be a very happy girl!

I modified Lori's row of peeps, by cutting them apart. I wanted to be able to make several of these cards to send out to some of my crafty friends. I chose to use Lori's  Echo Park collection Celebrate Easter for my papers. I love to layer pretty patterns and solids. So bright and fun! I added some iridescent cording behind my popped up peep and also some iridescent shreds for sparkle.

Hope you enjoy!
That's it for me today!
